"I used to consider myself a religious person, but at some point I lost it. There is still a part of me that longs for the sense of understanding and purpose that those with religion often exude. But at the same time, losing my faith has instilled a faith in myself that I didn’t have before; without the thought of a higher power or something to come after this life, I feel a sense of control and determination in regard to my future. I have found spirituality in my own agency,” Pacheco says.
